Applications Engineer - International travel - Machinery design

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing market-leader in the design and manufacture of high-speed electromechanical special-purpose machinery. Providing systems that are lower cost, easier to use and higher quality than their competitors they are the solution of choice for the largest national clients and OEMs in their industry across 16 countries. This company is in an excellent position, having the benefits and backing from being part of large multinational group, whilst still retaining the autonomy and flexibility of a small business.

Due to a continual sustained demand for their products they now require an Applications Engineer to join their team based near Basingstoke. This role would give you responsibility for being the link between customers and the design team. You would be discussing client requirements, negotiating the delivery of projects and then managing the design and implementation of those projects.

The company's products often need to integrate with the machinery and systems of their customers, so the ability to have technical conversations and define what is feasible is essential. You must be comfortable with international travel, as visiting customer sites and ensuring completion of projects will be a frequent part of your responsibilities.

The essential requirements for this position:

* Mechanical Engineering background. CAD design experience, ideally with Solidworks

* Customer/Supplier-facing experience

* Minimum 4 years experience

The desirable skills are:

* Project management experience useful. Pulling together engineers of various disciplines to deliver projects to client requirements

* Electronics or software knowledge beneficial

This role would provide a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending upon experience, plus an excellent benefits package including private healthcare, performance-related bonuses, pension, retail discounts and a Car Leasing Scheme.
