Due to continued growth and increased demand, Quality Cottages and Quality Unearthed require a Developer to join our Development team, based in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

This is a full-time contract role and will involve working closely with other highly-skilled members of the wider team including programmers, agencies and internal stakeholders.

The role is perfect for an experienced Front and Back End Developer, who is interested in helping with our growth plans. That said, working as part of a small team means the successful applicant will get to wear many different hats! Possessing the ability to work well in a fast paced environment is crucial.

Specification:

The successful candidate will have:

At least three years commercial experience as a developer

Excellent technical coding skills with attention to detail, an ordered approach to solving problems and a desire to produce work of outstanding quality and reliability

A proven track record of working as a front end Web Developer with a keen eye for design. Writing organised, fully standard-compliant code is a must as is the ability to design and code pixel-perfect layouts across multiple browsers

Experience of integrating with 3rd party API’s

A broad knowledge of SEO and associated analytics to help manage our SEO campaigns

An understanding of algorithms, data structures, databases and large websites

A desire to further technical knowledge and gain breadth of experience

Responsibilities:

Write clean and elegant code.

Refactor, simplify and optimise code to develop features more effectively.

Collaborate with cross-functional team members on features, design and implementation and work cohesively to find solutions.

Think outside the box, adapting the latest software technologies while developing innovative functionality to improve the user experience.

Assist with the day to day I.T needs of the office.

Capture bugs, help requests, feature requests.

Set up email and CMS and owner accounts.

General troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Essential technical skills:

MySQL

Experience of a PHP-based MVC frameworks

HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Experience of building web UIs in a JavaScript framework such as jQuery or Angular.js

Desirable skills;

Linux/Unix command line

Experience of building web sites optimised for mobile devices e.g. CSS3 media queries

HTML 5 and CSS 3

Experience with mobile development

Agile methodologies

Experience with version control (Git, Subversion etc)

Knowledge of best security practices

Unit testing.

This is a 3 month rolling contract, office based.
