* SQL Server / Teradata DBA to manage multi terabyte, multi application databases - based in Blanchardstown. *

Role: SQL Server / Teradata DBA

Location: Blanchardstown

Salary: Circa 60k plus benefits

My client is looking to hire a SQL Server / Teradata DBA to manage their multi terabyte, multi applications databases in a mixed database environment of SQL 2005 / 2008 and Teradata with a thorough understanding of database commands and utilities.

Key responsibilities:

* Ability to manage multiple databases and platforms includes SQL Server 2005 / 2008, Teradata

* Disaster Recovery methods and capacity planning

* Analysis and tuning databases for performance and efficiency

* Work directly with developers to review database designs, index and queries

* Provide recommendations in relation to improvements on database platforms

* Maintain required patch upgrades on database systems

* Carry out software upgrades

Your skill-set:

* 2+ years experience in a similar DBA role

* Teradata V13, Microsoft SQL server 2005 / 2008, Linux / Unix

* Experience working with Disaster Recovery methods and capacity planning

* Experience with analysing and tuning databases for performance and efficiency
