The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) is responsible for distributing around £4 billion a year for teaching and research in universities and colleges in England. This role is based within the Analytical Services Directorate but will involve close working with the information technologies and systems team. Analytical Services Directorate, currently comprises 50 data analysts, statisticians and economists.

You will lead a small team of three responsible for overseeing the analytical and data infrastructure of the Analytical Services Directorate. You will have practical experience of maintaining a SAS server environment and be familiar with modern data storage and analysis tools and techniques. Ideally you will have good knowledge of SQL and the .Net framework, especially C# as the role will involve driving innovation in the ways in which the directorate use IT to collect data, allocate funds and analyse data. In addition to your technical skills you will have good project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
