The High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) of Thames Valley Police has an exciting vacancy for a Digital Analyst and Investigator to be based in Kidlington in Oxfordshire.

You will be involved in the most challenging and interesting cases of computer forensics work and will be directly involved in the investigation of serious crime, specifically homicide, child sexual exploitation and complex Fraud.

You will undertake forensic examinations of mobile phones, computers and other electronic devices in accordance with the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) guidelines and court approved investigation techniques and provide high quality written and oral evidence that can be presented to the Crown Prosecution Service and at Court as an expert witness.

The following criteria are essential:

- Postgraduate foundation in computer forensics, i.e. National Foundation qualification in Computer Forensics (Cranfield, de Montford or similar) or equivalent significant experience

- Previous use of computer forensic techniques/software e.g. Encase, Forensic Tool Kit (FTK) etc

- Working knowledge as a digital forensics practitioner

- Excellent communication and analytical skills when faced with complex and high volumes of data.

Selection will take the form of a panel interview, a practical test and a 10 minute presentation. Previous applicants need not re-apply.
