The Rural Payments Agency has a unique role within the UK. We pay farmers, traders and land owners over £2 billion each year to support the farming and food sector. We also manage over 40 schemes to help ensure our communities are healthy. From carrying out thousands of inspections and checks to cattle tracing, our work is keeping the rural economy strong.

Behind the scenes here, our in-house IT experts keep things running smoothly - ensuring everyday essential technology is in place and effective. And as our Problem Manager, you’ll be central to this. You’ll take responsibility for resolving the root causes of any incidents that arise - minimising negative impacts for the business and making sure that steps are put in place to prevent them happening again.

From analysing incident records and identifying trends to liaising with suppliers, you’ll regularly be making effective decisions and leading on change. It calls for considerable relevant experience and a good understanding of the problem solving process.
