As Technical Lead, you’ll be at the heart of this strategy.

Working in an agile, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll provide hands-on technical guidance and leadership to support the development, operation and improvement of complex digital services. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll work with your team to design and develop technical solutions, prioritising projects in conjunction with the Head of Digital Transformation. Liaising with stakeholders across the organisation and engaging with the wider web/open source development community, you’ll identify best practices and share new tools and techniques with your team. There’ll also be the opportunity for you to get involved in hands-on coding, especially in cases where projects are more complex than usual. As we move into a new approach to working, this is a fantastic opportunity to not only lead a development team, but to make a positive difference to our digital offering.

About you

An engaging and inspiring leader, you not only bring a wealth of technical experience and expertise to the role, but also strong communication and stakeholder management skills. With a robust knowledge of back end web development, the latest coding practices and a programming language such as Java, you are confident in your technical abilities and comfortable working in an agile environment. Right now, you are likely to be a senior developer looking to move up into a technical lead role, or have worked as a developer within an agile team using Scrum, Kanban or similar methodologies.
