An exciting opportunity has arisen in the GLA’s Housing and Land Directorate for an experienced systems implementation manager to lead on the directorate’s Systems Replacement Project.

The GLA’s new Housing & Land directorate, which came together in 2012, is now delivering more affordable homes in London than at any time since 1981. In addition, the directorate is taking huge strides toward rolling out the Mayor’s Housing Zones programme (a new initiative to accelerate housing delivery in areas with high development potential), the London Housing Bank, and releasing GLA land for development and regeneration and improving the quality and affordability of homes in London.

These massive undertakings, the investment of which totals in excess of £2 billion, have presented a pressing need for a robust and fully functional IT system to address a primary requirement to provide efficient business management, monitoring and reporting. As such, the GLA is procuring a new Geographic Information System (GIS) based IT solution to replace a number of inherited systems thus creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems implementation manager to join the team.

We are looking for someone to see the entirety of the project through from beginning to end. Experienced successfully implementing large scale IT systems is a must with an understanding of housing investment programmes advantageous. We are also particularly looking for someone who understands the business story behind the project, is a master at prioritising given the project’s tight deadlines, and can demonstrate successful management of risk. The ideal candidate will also be well organised and pro communicating with both internal and external stakeholders and negotiating on behalf of the authority.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, childcare voucher scheme and a career average pension scheme

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. Applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates will be particularly welcomed as they are currently under-represented in this area of our organisation.

Closing date for completed applications is Monday 4 May 2015.

Interviews will take place at City Hall on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 May 2015.
