Technical Project Manager

Yodel are embarking on an extremely exciting programme of work to replace their current core IT applications with a new purpose built solution.The programme of work is to commence immediately and will run through a number of phased deliverables over a period of 2 years.

As part of an exciting new Core IT Systems replacement programme of work, a number of roles have been identified as pivotal to the success.The Technical Project Manager role will look to coordinate and manage the infrastructure deliverables for the entire core programme, ensuring all components are delivered on time, to agreed scope, and to budget.It will also lead the creation/agreement of requirements of the programme of work and to aid with the production of Impact Assessments, Scope, and Solution Design.

Main Activities and Responsibilities include:

- This is a member of the infrastructure technical delivery team, reporting to the Infrastructure and Programme management, working with the core programme team, responsible for delivering the infrastructure components of the overall programme of work, supported by other Technical Delivery Manager as required, and assisted by a Junior Technical Delivery Managers.

- Add experience and insight into the new technical solutions

- Takes an active role together with other technical staff and specialised IT management in IT policy making, both in software and hardware procurement.

- Ensure all changes made adhere to service management standards, including change control, and transition to service.

- Pull together relevant guides/training material to assist the business with on-boarding change brought about through IT.

- Manages and reports progress against plans within their own area of responsibility.

- Takes an active part in meetings with clients/users/IT staff during investigations and throughout subsequent changes/implementations.

- Consistently produces work of a high standard, and ensures team members adhere to high standards.

- Provide Input to support the creation of appropriate standards, methods and tools and ensures that they are applied in an intelligent and effective way in order to achieve well-engineered products.

Essential Experience

- Prince II or equivalent desired

- Good Written & Oral communication.

- Is proficient at project management, following Prince II principles.

- Has comprehensive current knowledge of IT, and IT standards, applications and trends.

- Can effectively facilitate the analysis of solution requirements through the use of workshops or similar meetings.

- Is capable of undertaking complex, business change programs, delivering the IT infrastructure components.

- Has a wide knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure (solutions &processes)
