Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) is an independent body that inspects and reports on the efficiency, effectiveness and legitimacy of police forces and other law enforcement agencies.
Our reports attract national media attention. Recently we have reported on police integrity and corruption, the use of police stop and search powers, and published our first all-force PEEL inspection online. Clearly, it is important to get our facts right.
We are looking for skilled individuals to form part of our expanding Performance, Analysis and Research Team, a group of specialists and generalists with a wide range of experience from both the public and private sector. This is an outstanding opportunity to utilise your data handling skills in a genuinely worthwhile role. Gathering and analysing information effectively is critical to our ability to help the public hold the police to account.
We are looking for people who can deliver consistently accurate results under pressure. You will be supporting the collection of bespoke data from police forces to feed into inspection programmes, compiling data in Excel and ensuring it is kept up to date, and providing visualisations of data so that it can be understood by the public.
If you are a strong team player with experience in building and using complex data sets, a methodical approach and good organisational skills, we would like to hear from you.

Applications must be received by 16 April 2015.
