Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. We are involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures the nation has ever seen. Ventures like Thameslink. This £3.5bn rail infrastructure project will enhance the rail network to and through London. Significantly increasing overground capacity, it will transform journeys and open new possibilities for millions of people. Joining a small CAD team within Central Engineering, you’ll be integral to our success.

You’ll join us at a particularly exciting time. The team is closely involved in the design process for redeveloping London Bridge Station conceptually. Providing specialist assistance to Thameslink Programme Engineers, you will support a range of important achievements. You will:

- assist with the development, review and acceptance of designs

- also play an active role in the design process - from producing 3D architectural models and signal drawings, to modelling cloud point data.

- prepare CAD quality reports, manage systems for data files and records, and make sure consultants, contractors and suppliers are aware of CAD standards.

You’ll demonstrate:

- Ability to produce 3D Architectural models and 3D Signal drawings, for both concept design and visual purposes

- 2D, 3D and point cloud data modelling within Bentley MicroStation V8i

- familiarity with Bentley AECOsim and Rail Track

You’ll also:

- be a real team player

- bring to the role excellent communication, evaluation and decision making skills

Experience of working in a multidiscipline project will be an advantage, whilst an appreciation of the lifecycle stages of rail infrastructure will be essential. In return for your commitment, you can expect excellent benefits and opportunities for development, including training in the legal and technical aspects of Network Rail.
