About the Team

The Solutions team are responsible for the design and costing of all ICT propositions from pre-sales bid stages up to contract signature. From both a technical and service perspective we cover all channels on varying sizes of opportunities from simple standard single technology solutions to multi million pound opportunities covering multiple different technology towers.

Your Role

The Managing Architect is responsible for leading complex customer engagements involving multiple technology towers. They engage with the customer, typically at IT Director or CIO level and use their deep understanding of the customer’s business processes and requirements to provide thought leadership and help define the customer’s requirements across these technology towers. Managing Architects then lead a virtual team of Solution and Service Architects to design a solution to meet these requirements and in particular translate a technical solution into tangible business outcomes.

Responsibilities

The key accountabilities are:

To develop customer relationships at a senior CIO or IT Director level to position O2’s value propositionsWorks with customers to understand their business strategy and develop IT strategies and architectures to help them meet their business goals.Lead a design team, defining the approach to larger and more complex solution development and delivery and identifying strategic level risks and remedies. Conducts peer and design assurance reviews on solutions To articulate both through professionally written submissions and orally delivered presentations complex designs, technologies and solutions to both technical and non-technical customers in order to communicate the associated features and business benefitsTo maintain a high degree of industry and technical knowledge across a wide portfolio of products and technologies spanning multiple vendors and supporting O2’s strategic objectives. To work at peer level to influence the sales management and account directors in defining account strategies and planning, including commercial approaches for both individual accounts or sales sectors

Skills and Experiences

Extensive customer facing experience in complex systems integration and managed services environmentsProven ability to begin and maintain relationships with CIO’s and IT Directors, programme managers, sales, business managers and partnersExperience of designing complex solutions and proposals across a range of technologies and services, having experience in running solution design from at least three of the following:

o LAN & Wifi

o WAN

o IPT & Unified Communications

o Hosting & Cloud Services

o Security

o Mobility

o Big Data & Analytics

o Contact Centre

Established and successful in a commercial environment with at least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role, leading virtual teams with proven in depth knowledge of sales principles and practices and solution.Leading engagements requiring complex managed service solution responsesThe role holder has a reputation as an expert both inside and outside of the Company and is in demand from both internal and external stakeholders A good understanding of ITIL Service Management and appreciation of compliancy, governance, ISO accreditations, Government IT strategies (PSN) and Government Security Levels is desirableTOGAF understanding and certification desirable.
