Put your project management experience to work in an interesting and varied environment. One where your contribution results in a greener, more efficient transport system and your efforts will make a very real and positive difference to people across the UK.
About the role
You’ll be working within the Low Carbon Fuels (LCF) division of the Department for Transport. This includes everything from managing our bespoke IT system to leading discussions with fuel suppliers. At the same time, you’ll work closely with the sustainability compliance team to undertake monthly checks while scoping and managing the implementation of any changes and improvements.
About you
You’ll need solid project management experience as well as being highly numerate and IT literate (although being able to code is not essential). Just as important as your experience, however, will be the personal qualities you bring to the role. Engaging and a confident communicator, you’ll need plenty of initiative and a flexible approach. From a practical standpoint, you may be based in London or Hastings and a willingness to travel between the two is essential.
About us
The Department for Transport plans and invests in transport infrastructure to keep the UK on the move. The Low Carbon Fuels division works on the Department’s policy to create a greener transport system by reducing emissions and improving the efficiency of the nation’s transport fleet. Our biofuels work is governed by EU directives and it’s our role to meet the targets of the 2020 climate change package. Together, we’re working towards a greener network across the UK.
