Brief Job Description
The solution architect has end to end responsibility for the integrity of technical solutions across a system rationalisation project.
Key Skills and Experience required
To oversee the architecture definition within Personal lines building a solutions roadmap; Work with developers to deliver well architected, robust systems; strong understanding of application design and development using middleware and application integration technologies.
- Strong understanding of application design and development using middleware and application integration technologies.
- Understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements.
- Find logical, cost effective and durable solutions to problems.
- Oversee the architecture definition within personal lines, building a solutions roadmap.
- Ensure comliance with internal and external technology standards.
- Work with developers to deliver well architected, robust systems.
- Substantial systems development experience in a technical role.
- Strong knowledge of the IT architecture within Personal Lines.
- Proven technical expertise in an IT role, with specific experience in at least technology areas from: Java/ J2EE, Oracle, mainframe architecture (SOA)
- Strong understanding of Java/ J2EE environment, especially standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Recognised technical certification in relevant technology preferred e.g. Sun Certified Programmer, Oracle PL/ SQL Developer Certified Associate, Recognised IT architect certification preferred.
