We have an exciting opportunity for a high calibre candidate to develop their career with us as a Business Data Analyst. Reporting to the IT Portfolio Lead your role will provide insight through data and statistical analysis to enable the business to use complex algorithmic IT systems more effectively; driving business benefits. This is a key role in a fast paced forward looking organisation.

We are looking for someone with an academic background in mathematics, statistics or related disciplines who is prepared to ask 'why?' and then work to find answers by speaking with business users, analysing data and taking a methodical approach to problem solving.

This is a hands on role which will involve working on a daily basis with business stakeholders to understand their needs and help to solve them. Therefore a desire to satisfy customer requirements is key, as is a personable, friendly nature.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

- Outstanding degree level education in an analytical field such as but not limited to Mathematics / Statistics / Engineering / Computer Science / MMORSE/ Operations Research

- Knowledge of data analytics to enable business decisions, problem solving and forecasting

- Experience working with complex algorithmic systems

- Good SQL skills with a desire to develop them further

- Advanced Excel skills

- Experience working in a business facing role

- Can do attitude

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

- Software development projects, both in waterfall and Agile environments

- Forecasting techniques

- Optimisation problems

- MATLAB or other statistical packages

- Multiple linear regression techniques
