Experienced Data Architect sought by my client, a Top Ten Global Hedge Fund Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a listed Fund Manager organisation with a track record leading back over a decade. This is a newly created hire as part of a three-year Technology Investment Programme.
Reporting to the Global Chief Architect this hire will assume responsibility for database strategy, data integration and transport, and reporting and related business intelligence, whilst assisting the development and infrastructure organisations to implement solutions. You will also be required to participate in hands-on tasks with development teams and mentor teams on specific architecture principles, approaches and knowledge.
Key responsibilities and deliverables will include:
-Creation of effective data solutions which meet both business and technical requirements, balancing the goals and constraints of the solution.
-Development and maintenance of formal descriptions of the data and data structures including data dictionary, data models, data flows and other forms of metadata.
-Specific definitions of XML / FpML message content and structure as well as database schema design and data modelling
-Work with the business and technology to identify reference data solutions, help to identify owners for the data, and assist in providing mechanisms for sharing the data across the organization
-Own the overall data strategy and ensure that all relevant initiatives continue to work towards the global strategy including databases, data warehousing, data integration, reporting and business intelligence.
-Work with the business identifying elements of the global business and technical strategy that can be tackled through data architecture
-Report regularly to the Chief Architect to ensure the data strategy continues to align with other architecture initiatives
To be considered candidates must have demonstrable track record within the Information and Data Architecture space, considered a leader within the field, a portion of which in a leadership role, ideally within a prominent Financial Markets firm.
