Principal Satellite Engineer (VSAT networks)
£50-60,000k plus excellent bonus plus benefits with globally renowned organisation

We are looking for a Senior Satellite Engineer for a major global carrier. This is a key role calling on your engineering expertise in the field of satellite communications focused on the organisation's global presence.
Your duties will include :
Planning and design of earth station systems and VSAT networks.
Project management of complex Satellite projects, up to a value of £5M. To include procurement, logistics, management of subcontractors, customer management, technical design and implementation, network management, operations management, invoicing and billing management.
Support customer account management, including presentations of projects to customers
Prepare contributions to technical studies, costings, plans, specifications and tender evaluations.
Technical negotiations with suppliers.
Factory testing, installation, commissioning of earth station systems, monitor and prepare progress reports.
Keep abreast of the application of new developments, techniques, standards and equipment.
Maintain working knowledge of international standards in satellite networks, data communications, Internet and general communications.
Mandatory skills and experience:
Experience as an expert professional engineer in the field of satellite communications.
Experience of managing large multi discipline projects essential.
Develops positive work relationships with colleagues/ other departments
Contributes to meetings of own work team on routine issues
Influences colleagues/ others to make improvements to work processes
Analyses range of issues in identifying problems & their impact within sphere of activity
Advantageous skills and experience:
A Chartered Engineer, Full Member of the IET and Member of the Engineering Council.
