Our client, a large energy and utilities provider, is recruiting for an Oracle Data Warehouse Developer to join their team.

The position is a contract role based in Nottingham, for an initial 3 month period.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

* Develop technical designs for BI solutions, ensuring a stable and accurate environment for end users reporting.

* Provide support to other technical resources or business teams on complex issues and projects related to business intelligence.

* Use best practice methodologies of design and development for the data warehouse.

* Assist with requirements gathering and prototyping possible solutions in conjunction with systems analysts.

* Create the relevant technical documentation for BI solutions in line with internal controls.

* Test solutions for BI solutions within the data warehouse.

* Write and tuning complex SQL to increase performance.

The key skill requirements are:

* Demonstrable OBIEE knowledge.

* Good knowledge of data load processes.

* Excellent Oracle database knowledge.

* DBA process awareness.

* Good code control usage and adherence.

* Good Unix/Linux navigation.

* Batch/job scheduling.

* Good level of performance recognition and SQL tuning.

* Good ability to perform impact assessments of changes.

* Code testing.

* Excellent SQL skills.

* Good understanding of relational databases.

* Demonstrable data warehouse design and analysis.

* Good working knowledge of SQL tools (e.g. SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, etc.).

* Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to prioritise work according to changing business needs.

* Able to work collaboratively as part of a wider team to implement solutions.
