Intelligence Analysts are the frontline of GCHQ. Responsible for examining data from all over the world, they play a vital role in protecting the UK.

GCHQ is one of the UK’s intelligence and security agencies. We gather and analyse information from many channels, before converting it into critical intelligence material. As part of our dedicated team, your task will be to translate and analyse a diverse range of material, using your specialist knowledge to determine which items are important. You’ll be looking at data (often highly technical) in all kinds of formats. It’ll be down to you to assess its intelligence value, and clearly report your findings to key contacts including government and the military.

Projects could be short or long-term. All of them can make a difference to the security of our nation. What’s more, life at GCHQ is fast-paced and your role will constantly evolve. It’s therefore essential that you’re adaptable, motivated and willing to learn. We’ll also expect you to have the confidence to work with senior managers and colleagues at all levels.

It goes without saying that you’ll need to be analytical and determined, with strong technical aptitude. We’re looking for graduate-calibre professionals, with strong written skills and an awareness of current affairs.
