A software engineering role at Capital One isn't about automating or digitising what we currently have. We're looking for you to disrupt the financial services industry by reimagining what financial services could be, by creating new, innovative products and solutions that will make our customers lives easier.

As our Master Software Engineer, you'll technically lead an agile team that creates game-changing user experiences for our customers, working with the Scrum Master and Product Owner. The design part of your role will focus on ultilising user-centred design to craft next-generation digital products and seamless user experiences. With your software engineering hat on, you'll take the lead on building consumer-facing, data-driven websites that take the complexity out of the user experience. Designing and coding websites, creating test transactions and drawing on insight to tailor designs and coding will all be part and parcel of your role. In addition, you will be responsible for helping to lead and mentor a team of bright engineers within the Software Studio.

On top of a strong portfolio of websites and mastery of all of the following: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Subversion , GIT, multi variant testing, tracking & tag management tools and content management systems, our Master Software Engineer for front end web development will be someone who looks to be at the cutting edge of front end development techniques ' and will use that knowledge to lead the technical direction of the front end development team.

The ability to deliver multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-moving environment is also essential.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- 5 years experience in software development, including experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Subversion , GIT, multi variant testing, tracking & tag management tools and content management systems

- 1 year experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers
