Overview of role
The Head of Web and Intranet role is a senior, strategic role in our global Infrastructure division with direct management responsibility for 10 people, and matrix management of regional teams based in New York and Asia (hub teams are sized at 2 – 4 FTEs). The role reports to the Head of Web & CRM.
The role will manage, guide and oversee the development, management and maintenance of all client-facing web and internally facing intranet activities. The role will be responsible for a number of strategic stakeholder relationships internally, primarily business and channel heads, and the management of vendors and suppliers of services.
Specifically, the role will:
Manage teams of direct and matrix reports
Manage, oversee and be responsible for all aspects of budget management for web and intranet total spend requiring governance in the range of £3m - £5m per annum
Develop and own global web and intranet strategy including attendance, guidance and development of the Web Strategy Forum
Provide governance and oversight to global web and intranet activities
Manage change in response to business requirements
Be responsible for account management of all internal clients and external vendors, including the strategic relationship with the web Managed Service Partner, in conjunction with IT, for web and the service relationship with IT for intranet
Essential Skills
The successful candidate for this demanding, senior role will need:
A strong process and structured orientation to work, able to be reliant and self-sufficient, working with minimal direction
Knowledge of web technologies and their fit with client service and support objectives within the asset management industry – NB the role holder is expected to be familiar with the use of web technology but is not expected to be a technical expert.
Desirable Skills
Candidates with the following would be at an advantage:
Knowledge of asset management and the financial services industry
A project management background would be useful
Delivering client service solutions in a complex environment would be a significant strength.
A demonstrable background in consulting / problem solving / influencing / dealing with ambiguity and creating solutions for complex problems would be very useful
