Our Client is an innovative, world-leading medical devices company at an exciting period of growth.
As part of this growth they require a CAD Engineer to provide Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD) support into the R&D group.
Assisting in the support of all mechanical engineering tasks for new product design development.
The CAD Engineer will:
•Generation of 3D MCAD digital models and 2D detail/ assembly drawings; supporting the R&D needs from concept generation to production release.
•Generation of product design inputs & ideas into the project team; including the development of ideas generated by other project team members.
•Generation of technical presentations to support the introduction of new product concepts, comprising of MCAD images and/ or manual illustrations.
•Tolerance analysis of product; ensuring the product specification accurately conveys & reflects all aspects of design, manufacturing & assembly processes.
•Support the design/ product/ process verification and validation requirements according to Medical Device regulations (MDD and FDA).
•Demonstrate an understanding of, and contribute to, risk reduction strategies such as risk analysis and FMEA.
The CAD Engineer will:
Highly proficient in the use of MCAD tools for mechanical design tasks –
oSolid Edge – preferred.
oSolid Works – may be considered.
Ablility to conceive & develop mechanical product design ideas/ solutions.
Ablility to compile clear & concise mechanical 2D detail/ assembly drawings – working to BS 8888 and its referenced normative standards.
Ablility to compile tolerance analysis report of product; to include provision for datum assignment, limits & fits, linear stack-ups and virtual size techniques.
Previous experience of the following would be beneficial to this position:
oGeometric tolerancing to BS ISO 1101
oProduct design involving small closely toleranced assemblies.
oProduct design of components involving injection moulding, metal pressing, EDM, photo-etching.
oRapid prototyping methods
Ability to contribute to project team risk analysis and FMEA
Enthusiastic team player with good interpersonnel and written skills; as required within a project team environment.
Location: South Wales
Rate: c. £26p.h – 12 MONTH CONTRACT!
