Planning Engineer required urgently to join a highly successful and market leading business based in South London.
Abs of Gold Group Ltd is now looking to appoint a Senior Planning Engineer to join a prestigious business who are well regarded and highly respected. Famed for their drive and passion on all of their projects you will be a key member of the team and will demonstrate a solid track record working on rail engineering projects.
The Role:
As a key member of the Planning team, you will carry out Project Planning activities as detailed below. You will take a pro-active role in advising others of issues, actions and risks associated with the planning process. You will be responsible for promoting planning within the Company and mentor junior members of the department.
Key responsibilities:
To update and maintain activities of the project programme, liaising with company personnel as and when required to ensure that the activities are properly planned in the programme and progress is properly recorded. Liaison with client representatives will also be required. To assist in the development and maintenance of fully baselined, resource loaded and logic linked project programmes in accordance with Project Management and planning processes. Work with Project Managers and project team to ensure project programmes are maintained. Provide periodical reports on project status. Initiate, implement and maintain project monitoring processes. Highlight problem areas and issues and suggest remedial action. Implement Risk Analysis on project and possession programmes as appropriate. Promote planning within the company, developing initiatives to meet changing company requirements. Deputise for the Principle Planning Engineer in their absence.
So what are the key requirements?
- Degree/ HND/ HNC level or relevant experience.
- Project delivery experience.
- PC literate with experience in the use of Windows packages (Word, Excel, etc).
- Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P3e and Microsoft Project planning tool
- Self motivated with sound interpersonal skills coupled with an assertive style of behaviour.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good time management.
- Good analytical skills
- Good management skills
Money is negotiable and very much dependent on your own current situation and earnings however you will on top of your basic receive a company car or car allowance, fuel card, travel allowance, pension, health cover, 25 days holiday plus banks, annual pay review, and most importantly be treated with the utmost respect.
Career scope within the business has a reputation of excellence, with a tendency to promote within, the intention for this specific role will be to promote the individual to that of Planning Manager and to head up and build a team.
