A prestigious FTSE 100 company is looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst to work within a team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a blue chip company.

An opportunity has arisen for the position of a Support Analyst / Programmer based in our Cheadle office to join the OPENContractor Support Team.

Progress 4GL skills and any exposure to pEscript and Xprint would be invaluable (but not essential). The ideal person will have good analytical skills and would ideally have a Software House Background. This particular role will be focused on working on 3rd line support issues, therefore providing the bridge between the support and development teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a support role, and have supported MS and bespoke applications.

Job Purpose
To provide 2nd and 3rd line support of the OpenContractor and Openmobile product.

Principle Accountabilities
• Diagnosing support calls and entering accurate details into the call logging system.
• Monitoring and resolution of support calls, ensuring SLA's are met.
• Ensuring Defined policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Develop personal and support team skills in the Progress development language to reduce the number of referrals to the development team.
• Identify areas of code that need amendment and make recommendations for amendment or amend under the guidance of the development manager.
• Act as a technical advisor to the support team, and link between the support and development teams
• The role will involve a combination of fault investigation, data interrogation and minor bug fixes.

Essential Experience/ Skills
• Good analytical skills
• Experience of Application Support
• A proven level of technical knowledge, such as MS office packages
• Proven customer service skills
• Experience of working on a helpdesk in an IT environment
• A positive attitude toward teamwork and a commitment to contributing toward the achievement of team goals.

Desired Experience/ Skills
• Progress 4GL skills and any exposure to pEscript and Xprint
• Any previous exposure of Mobile Solutions
• Relational database knowledge
