Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager

Our Client is a Global leader in the Aerospace and Defence sector. Due to expansion they are now looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineering Manager.


The Role - Manufacturing Engineering Manager required to:
Internal
· To manage a team of manufacturing engineers, responsible for performance, development.
· Expert implementation of Design for Manufacture and Test methodologies for New Product Introduction.
· To prepare and lead the Production standardisation policy in co-ordination with Divisional Chief Engineers Office, and Product Groups.
· Enable regular management reviews with the Production Support, Engineering Product Groups and Divisional Chief Technical Office
· Derive and direct strategic and tactical improvements in accordance with cost, lead-time, risk and technology innovation objectives.
· Provide regular inputs to Production and Project Management teams on Production performance to ensure efficient management of all departments.
· Liaise with functional groups in the Company to obtain the necessary resources for timely project completion.
· Organise and run multi-functional teams and meetings in the endeavour to successfully deliver the Production Strategy
· Responsible for development, and implementation of the manufacturing strategy, consolidating production process, systems and technology strategies.

External
· To proactively resolve all matters relating to Production performance and customer satisfaction with all necessary external stakeholders.
· To ensure that all technical and commercial contractual obligations are met in accordance with customer and Company objectives.
· To enable regular and scheduled technical / progress reviews with Customers and other stakeholders.
· Industrial, Institutional and Educational links to continuous development of the manufacturing engineering capabilities within ASP5 Production.

The Candidate - You will be:
· Educated to min Honours degree or equivalent (MBA or equivalent advantageous), with significant experience of Production Management within the space, aerospace or military electronics engineering sector.
· Experienced in managing an expert team. Accomplished in team building, decision-making and target setting.
· Proactive, visionary with the proven ability to implement change to the benefit of the business.
· Proven ability to work on a number of interrelated issues.
· Familiar with all aspects of the project life cycle from design to production, including formal reviews, programme control, risk management, cost control and customer negotiation.
· Able to deploy a vision for delivering operational efficiency and agility within an operations environment with extensive knowledge / experience of project management systems, planning, supply chain strategies, ERP and MRP2.
