A prestigious FTSE 100 company is looking for an experienced Network Engineer providing technical support to both designated Corporate and outsourced customers. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a blue chip company.
You will need to gain SC security clearance which requires candidates to have been in the UK for 5 years without leaving the country for no longer than 3 months. This is an essential requirement.
You will be involved in the design approval, installation and commissioning phases of major projects to ensure that customer designs and operational procedures are compatible and sustainable. You will take ownership of all Security related technical support activities to ensure SLAs are adhered to.
You will maintain network documentation related to the customer's services and act as the technical operations design authority for the customer's services and as the customers' single point of contact for change management.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication and able talking to technical and non technical staff. Also the ability to work under pressure and be confident in own ability to make decisions is required
This is a Shift based role that will require to work some weekends.
Essential Experience/ Skills
Cisco CCNA/ CCDA
Checkpoint CCSA
Experience of several firewall technologies. Must have been involved in design and implementation VPN Technologies and Encryption.
Written excellent technical documentation
Excellent communication and customer facing skills
SLA environment
Hand on technical experience in the following technologies:
o Cisco routers and switches
o Technical experience with Checkpoint, PIX and Netscreen Firewalls A good understanding of security policy implementation
o Knowledge of IGP routing protocols
Desired Experience/ Skills
Cisco CCNP/ CCDP accredited
Checkpoint CCSE accredited
