RF Engineer required for position near Basingstoke - salary £28-£30k plus benefits. This is an excellent opportunity to work at an internationally recognised and respected design and manufacturing source of radio communication hardware for data, voice and video applications.

Job Title: RF Engineer

Design engineers are required and expected to have hands on experience of RF design to match this product cross section. Key aspects will include but not be limited to the following: -
- Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar discipline
- 3 years minimum design experience at VHF and UHF frequencies
- Ability to work alone on part or complete products / projects
- Disciplined thorough approach with an eye to detail and with good documentation
IT skills with familiarity on general office application packages and RF simulation.

Knowledge and working experience with :-
Narrow band FM techniques for transmission and reception
Synthesiser design using single loop, dual modulus loop and fractional N techniques
Single and two point modulation applied to synthesisers
Use but not necessarily the coding of PIC controllers to provide control functions
Experience of the parameters and measurements associated with radio type approvals including
European ETS 300 113, EN 300 220, ETS 300 086 and US FCC Part 90
Transmitter circuitry to power levels generally below 10W and typically below 500mW
Modulation techniques such as FSK, MSK, GMSK and 4LFSK for narrow band use
Advanced modulation techniques such as COFDM, QPSK and QAM
Low noise VCO design and performance implications of same
SMD techniques and associated design rules
Designing circuitry that will be frugal on power consumption.
Designing cost efficient solutions
Use of DSP to provide software based alternatives to conventional RF designs

Background knowledge : -
A hobby interest in radio or electronics e.g. radio amateur
