An excellent opportunity has arisen within Group IT Development for an Analyst Programmer, based in The overall purpose is to be responsible for the design, development and delivery of systems in service of the IT Programme.
As an Analyst Programmer you will take the lead in shaping the Development Strategy and best practice and ensure solutions conform to architectural design and strategy. You will also provide technical guidance and support to the wider IT team.
The successful candidate for the role will ideally be of degree level, preferably in a technical subject. You will be a team player with excellent interpersonal abilities, strong communication skills and have the ability to interact with all levels of management and non-technical staff. You will have practical experience of contributing to initiatives on software best practice and demonstrate a high attention to detail with a high level of personal professionalism.
As an Analyst Programmer you will have strong experience of software development and delivery on projects in a multi-server, multi-application and multi-database environment. You will also have experience of mentoring team members and leading the development on smaller projects.
The role requires strong SQL Server Development/ DBA experience and preferably experience of C# and the .Net framework. Practical experience of Agile Development methodologies is advantageous.
You will have a record of achieving results in the delivery of solutions, delivering maximum business value, without compromising quality, security and maintainability. Knowledge of financial or management accounting systems is advantageous.
