Technical Author/ Technical Writer/ Technical Publications
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Writer/ Author, based in Dundee, Scotland, for this large electronics company.
Key responsibilities (under limited supervision):
• Write technical copy for various company publications.
• Prepare, operate and maintain manuals and technical publications.
• Develop technical documentation to support the installation and maintenance of products (documentation includes Site Preparation Manuals, Installation Manuals, User Guides and Service Manuals).
• Work to a defined project plan/ schedule using established in house processes and procedures.
• Gather technical information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and manual organisation.
• Research available engineering information such as drawings, design reports, equipment and test specifications.
• May also interview engineers and other technical personnel.
• Excellent communication skills essential.
Requires a college degree in technical authoring or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with Adobe Framemaker an advantage.
