Mechanical Design Engineer
Do you have a mechanical / materials / physics background and are looking for a design role with a large amount of conceptual design on bespoke projects?
Joining a dedicated team producing made to order solutions for blue-chip clients; this a technically challenging and vairied role with a high degree of customer contact and involving a wide range of technologies.
The company form part of a worldwide, multi million pound organisation and have a well established reputation for producing specialist extruded products for the telecommunications industry. Due to increasing workloads and a growing marketplace they have identified new areas for expansion for their manufacturing facility and design teams to enable them to expand into new market areas.

The Role:
* Understanding client's specific requirements and producing design solutions utilising existing designs or producing conceptual design solutions.
* Conceptual design form scratch and remodificaiton of old / currnelt designs to meet specific needs.
* Design of extruded prodcuts, material selection and design for manufacture.
* Production and control of manufacturing specifications.
* Client contact to include customer visits and presentations to ensure all client needs are met.
* Provide accurate costings to sales and accounts departments.
* Production of documentation to support sales and manufacturing.
*3D CAD - Solidworks.
The Candidate:
* Mechanical / metallurgy / materials / physics background.
* Design experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of extrusion processes highly beneficial.
Remuneration:
* £28000 - £32000 + pension + bonus + healthcare + 25 days holiday
