The client is the world's leading publisher and owner of some of the world's most exclusive media and entertainment brands. Over the last 10 years they have grown hugely by acquisition. They now need to introduce a world-class corporate infrastructure to all of their companies - which will include a 5 year technology driven business transformation program. We have been retained to execute a high profile recruitment campaign aimed at appointing “Best of Breed” technology professionals into several new leadership positions. You will be a Change Agent and a leader who would welcome the challenge of turning around the IT organisation by introducing structure and discipline and making it into a front-line strength within the business. Reporting directly to the Head of Group IT Distribution with a dotted line to the Head of PMO, this is a new position for a Project Manager within Group IT Distribution. The primary purpose of this role is to plan and deliver a new IT program to 2 major distribution centres in line with standards and best practices of the new PMO. The Role – 1. Full project management responsibility including; project scope, resourcing (third party and internal), project budgeting progress, testing, implementation and change control 2. Working closely with both the PMO function and the IT Vista Development & testing teams as well as the Distribution & Publishing stakeholders, this person will deliver visibility and drive progress and delivery across a programme of IT projects within the two Distribution centres 3. In conjunction with the PMO, create and manage project plans for all assigned projects, tracking progress against milestone and taking corrective action for slippage to maintain delivery dates 4. Create and gain approval for and manage project budget5. Create and maintain all project documentation6. Create and manage a stakeholder communication plan for assigned projects. The Candidate – 1. Solid, practical knowledge of Prince2 or other industry standard methodologies2. 10 years experience of project and programme management within a fast paced and challenging commercial environment3. Experience of management of all project scales from small to multi-million, enterprise-wide projects 4. Development and integration project focus, primarily within MS .NET/ SQL server environment 5. Experience of projects in a web/ ecommerce environments is an advantage 6. Commercially aware and experienced with Vendor Management7. Prince2 qualified, or equivalent8.
