Our client is one of the worlds leading Generics Pharmaceuticals Manufacturer. They are currently at an exciting period of growth, and in the process of moving to a state of the art facility.
As part of this growth they currently require a Shipping Manager who will manage all of the shipping process from the new logistics centre, and lead, manage, motivate and develop the team leaders and operators working within the Shipping process.
The Shipping Manager will:
+ To ensure that all picking cartons have been correctly prepared for dispatch through the use of the automated filling, lidding and shipping machines.
+ To accurately sort all parcels and boxes to the correct parcel and/ or shipping lane.
+ To build pallets at the end of shipping lanes according to the agreed standard operating procedures (SOP's) and customer requirements ensuring that the warehouse control system (WCS) is updated with all carton and box movements.
+ Prepare pallets for dispatch ensuring that they are correctly secured ad labelled.
+ Load orders to trailers recording all movements on the warehouse management system (WMS) and ensuring that each order is fully dispatched.
+ To make certain that post dispatch, confirmation has been sent to Oracle.
+ Manage the third party logistic (3PL) transport providers ensuring that all transport and delivery services are provided to the contracted standards.
+ To ensure all documented return materials authorisations (RMA's) are collected in line with key performance indicators (KPI's) and SOPs.
+ To be responsible that all workforce behaviours are compliant with all relevant policies and legislation including health and safety.
+ To be accountable for the continuous improved efficiency and accuracy of processes and procedures ensuring that working practices represent best practice and are fully compliant with all relevant policies and legislation.
The Shipping Manager will have:
•Demonstrable track record of delivering, demanding objectives against time constraints.
•Previous experience of either working with, or being accountable for, third party transport.
•Experience in managing people
•Experienced in producing clear SOPs.
•Experience of working in a sophisticated warehouse environment including a warehouse management system such as Red Prairie, Manhattan Associates PKMS and RF equipment.
•Good working knowledge of internal and external regulations and requirements including GxP, COSHH, HASWA
