I have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a world class organisation. My client requires an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage and develop the current server and network infrastructure.
The main Responsibilities will include:
Design and application of a comprehensive range of procedures for security, recovery and restart.
Providing support for the operation, control, maintenance and effective use of the current radio and telephone systems.
Monitor server and network systems to ensure accurate and timely gathering of data about performance with regard to utilization and errors.
Using spreadsheet, database and other bespoke based software to support the reporting and management responsibilities.
Assisting in negotiating and reviewing contracts and SLAs and key suppliers.
Skills and abilities required:
Experience of working in an IT Environment.
Experience of managing staff including dealing with sickness, appraisals, disciplinary and grievance.
Experience of managing large IT Networks and Servers.
In depth knowledge of IT operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and UNIX.
In depth knowledge of Citrix Presentation Manager.
In depth knowledge of email systems, including MS Exchange 2003.
In depth knowledge of Active Directory and Active Directory Management.
In depth knowledge of TCP / IP protocols and LAN & WAN technologies.
Desirable:
PRINCE 2 Project Management.
Previous NHS experience.
Air Wave Radio exposure.
