Oracle DBA - Banking, 10g RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, 9i DBA
Oracle DBA with extensive 10g RAC experience in a live production support capacity, RMAN experience, Solid 10g Data Guard experience and all 9i DBA related technical skills. Candidates will require Replication experience including Advanced Replication and Streams a knowledge of Remedy and of Asset Centre and Quest Tools (Foglight, Quest Central) is also expected. The successful Oracle DBA will be required to work an initial 3 month contract with my city based tier one investment bank.
The Oracle team is also responsible for undertaking all related project work for these areas. The environment is a mixture of Oracle Databases versions ranging from 8i to 10gR2.
The successful candidate will be an Oracle DBA with Production Database Administration experience, ideally gained in a financial institution or equivalently busy production support environment. They must be self-motivated, responsible, and confident and have the ability to multi task and prioritize under often changing and challenging workloads. They must have the ability to follow standards and procedures, but have the confidence to proactively challenge where appropriate. They must be a good team player that is willing to share information, knowledge and ideas amongst fellow DBAs / SA's and Unix / DBA team managers. Equally as important, they must display a high level of common sense and commitment.
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to work alongside development teams in an advisory capacity and to present ideas and project plans to senior management.
