A leading European Defence Company are urgently seeking an experienced Principal Stress Engineer to join their team in Hertfordshire.
Skills and knowledge required are as follows:
•Degree qualified or equivalent, plus substantial relevant experience.
•Sound fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering, stress and vibration
analysis
•Demonstrated capability for interfacing with customers.
•Negotiating and influencing skills.
•Excellent problem solving skills.
•Highly developed communication skills: able to communicate verbally and in writing
at Project level.
•Experience in engineering in defence or related industry.
•Well-developed planning and organisation skills.
•Able to provide technical leadership to others.
•Proven record in conducting successful technical investigations and research.
•Able to develop links with other technical specialists, including outside companies,
and to network effectively on an international basis.
•Knowledge and experience of Def. Stan. 07-85
•Experienced in classical and Finite Element Structural Analysis and preferably has
used the following tools, NASTRAN, PATRAN, MathCAD, Pro/ Engineer
Due to the specific nature of this role, candidates holding current SC clearance are highly desirable. Successful candidates who do not hold current clearance shall be requested to undergo National Security Vetting procedures. Please be aware that the Security Vetting process can take several weeks depending on the level required.
