My Client is a medium sized broker-dealer business providing institutional and broker-dealer clients with international equity execution services.

The role will combine trading floor support, connectivity support, infrastructure support, product analysis, and overall IT platform support / coordination. The successful candidate will interact closely with trading, client service/ operational and technology colleagues (US and UK) with a focus on solving problems and assisting with creating solutions to effectively support the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support to clients, traders and sales traders, and others regarding use of the company's desktop applications, trading platform and client connectivity:
•Provide preventative and interrogative support, as needed, regarding functionality of the various applications that makeup the companies technology platform.
•Provide 1st level support for client connectivity during. Based on procedures and guidelines set in conjunction with the technology team, you will assess and resolve basic problems or escalate to technology resources for further investigation/ resolution where appropriate.
•Coordinate client requests for new connectivity or changes/ enhancements to existing connections.
•Maintain and manage a list of issues/ enhancements related to the needs of the London office as relates to use of the technology platform.
•Maintain relationships with various technology staff and vendors acting as a coordination point for these providers regarding prioritisation of issues/ enhancements to achieve timely delivery of needed functionality.

The successful candidate can also expect to be involved in the following IT functions:
•Microsoft office desktop support
•Market data infrastructure and desktop support
•Trading platform (fidessa) 1st line support
•Client connectivity support (FIX, Bloomberg, Reuters and Swift)
•Basic Unix administration
•Supporting Network and telecommunications hardware
•Supporting PBX systems
•Dealing with Telecommunications vendors to resolve circuit related issues

Experience/ Qualities:
Required Technical knowledge: The ideal candidate must have experience in the following areas:
Windows NT
General desktop including equity trading applications
FIX (4.0, 4.2)
UNIX environment

Desired additional knowledge: The following areas would be a big plus:
Fidessa 1st line support
Market data and order aggregates (i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters, etc)
MINT
SWIFT
Understanding of Connectivity protocols
Subs (at a minimum would ideally have some type of SQL experience)

Preferred experience/ qualities include:
•Basic understanding, and at least two years experience, in equity markets (in desktop / trade support environment).
•Providing desktop and production support:
oTrading system (ideally fidessa) and client connectivity experience (including FIX and, ideally, Bloomberg, RTEX and/ or Swift).
