HPC / Parallel SuperComputing role paying UP TO ~£60000pa + a great Package of pension & benefits, based nr BRISTOL this is a SUPERB role for a really experienced HPC Developer.
There are TWO roles, see other advert for a description of the other role...
This salary is on-par with those in many main SuperComputing Laboratories around the World... AND it comes with Pension, package of Benefits and good potential bonus... ON TOP. And it's a PERM role (not a 2-year appointment) so a bit like Tenure really...!!
NOTE: this role 'hinges' on extensive experience in C (ideally C & LINUX (esp' Red Hat 3, Red Hat 4 or RHEL)
Needs familiarity with some of the following:
Floating Point, VLIW, Vector Processing, SIMD, MIMD Architectures, Parallel Processing (MPP / SMP / HPC Clusters / GRID Computing), Sparse Matrix, Matrix Arithmetic, Systolic Arrays, Cache Consistency / Cache Coherence, Cache Snooping, Data Snooping, IEEE 754, Allocatable Arrays, Pointers, Memory Latency Hiding, MPI1, MPI1.1, MPI2 (MPI 1 / MPI 2)..
If U know what it all is, U really SHOULD be giving me a call..!
This is very specialised Programming & U will be writing 'C' Software Modules / Code Components which will form part of a main Application Suite OR core sections of the HPC Operating System
Extensive C Library used & on completion of each Development, comes the compatibility Testing
SOME inter-personal skills useful
Needs Degree in a relevant subject (& poss MSc or PhD)
Commercial experience (OR EXTENDED Academic HPC experience) of ANY Linux & C
