Infrastructure Specialist to lead the design of new networks to support new business, as well as design changes to existing network infrastructure. Initially the role is required to support the Defence Logistics business based in Bicester, Oxon.
Job Spec:
* Design, build, configure, test, document and implement network infrastructures capable of supporting IT systems for the Armed Forces, based on the CISCO range of routers, switches and hubs connecting over the customer RLI.
* Provide input into new bid proposals including estimated costs and outline designs.
* Provide skills in build and configuration for CISCO routers/ switches and related encryption and firewall devices.
* Deliver technical tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and/ or Team Leader.
Essential Skills:
* Proficient in Cisco IOS CLI and CAT OS CLI and have a very good understanding of Cisco routers and switches.
* IPv4 routing, switching and bridging knowledge.
* Sound knowledge of PPP, LAPB and WAN architecture.
* LAN architecture including VLANs – 802.1Q and ISL trunk.
* QoS techniques for design and configuration
* H323 and VoIP infrastructure knowledge
* OSPF, BGP, RIP, EIGRP for design and configuration
* In depth firewall knowledge including Proxies with an overview of Cyberguard firewall configuration and operation
* Good knowledge of IP Cryptos (DC2k/ DCAP & ED20s) and Crypto architecture
Desirable
* CCNP/ CCNA with experience
* Knowledge of the MOD RLI and security requirements (JSP480 etc.)
* Knowledge of Cyberguard firewall range and how they are configured
* Cisco PIX CLI configuration
* Knowledge of Server/ Client technologies
