Java Swing Developer, Java Swing Hibernate UNIX SQL OOA/ D Javascript, GREENFIELD PROJECT. Java Server side Development, Multi-threading / concurrency, agile development, Commodities, Fixed Income, Currencies, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Investment Banking City LONDON.
1st Tier Investment Bank - are urgently seeking a Java Developer to be part of a small elite team of 7, developing solutions for the Gas, Coal, Power, Emissions, Crude and Products, Freight, Metal and all other desks.
You will have direct contact with the traders, providing a great opportunity to learn the commodities markets in depth, work with cutting edge technology and exciting GREENFIELD projects. You will be developing the proprietary front-to-back trading system fully in house (from scratch) which will support the Power, Gas and Emissions businesses. You will also have exposure to .NET technologies.
The role is for a hands-on developer to come and work on a variety of both tactical and strategic projects, with strong analytical and problem solving skills. The successful candidate will be assigned to a primary development task but will also be expected to maintain oversight and ownership of one or two more depending on their size.
The role will involve working closely with the development manager with a view to taking responsibility for the delivery of specific projects.
You must have an excellent educational background preferably a numerate/ science discipline (2:1 or above from a top University). ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Java Swing Developer, Java Swing Hibernate UNIX SQL OOA/ D JavaScript.
Financial background highly desired but not essential; a fantastic opportunity for a Java server side “GURU” from outside banking - Software House / Consultancy to get into banking.
