The Role:
Provide ETL, data warehouse, data mining, analytical modelling and reporting expertise as part of the Knowledge Management team.
Design, implement and extend the data warehousing environment
Design and implement data staging, data loading and data reconciliation processes
Identify data entry, retrieval, change, and deletion issues, and work to ensure a high level of data availability
Design and implement data import/ export SSIS packages
Design and implement data cleanup procedures
Functional testing of all developed components
Contribute ideas and suggestions for possible improvements to reporting procedures so that they may be included, where agreed
Create reporting framework and develop management and user reports
Translate statistical analysis into business intelligence
Essential Experience:
-Proven record of Extract, Transform and Load operations including data cleansing
-Experience using Microsoft SQL 2005 SSIS package design and optimisation
-Experience in using SQL 2005 SSAS experience
-Data warehouse experience
-Experience engaged in a data analysis/ data mining role
-Experience in using VB.NET or C# experience in relation to an ETL role
Essential Skills:
-Proficient with SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio
-Excellent working knowledge of XML documents
-Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
-Capable of compiling management reports
-Conversant with the latest analytical techniques applicable to pattern recognition, predictive -modelling, cluster analysis
-Strong understanding of relationship database design and data extraction techniques
-Logical and pragmatic approach to identifying the message in the data rather than just reporting statistics
-Capable of compiling management reports
-Able to translate statistical analysis into business intelligence
-Good source control discipline using tools such as SourceSafe, Vault
-Workshop facilitation
-MS Office, MS Visio
A degree in a computing discipline is also desired.
