Our client, a leading Hedge Fund is seeking a fresh and passionate Junior Infrastructure Systems Administrator to work in their London based office.

This is a genuinely unique opportunity to work for one of the world's best financial services companies where graduates with 0-4 years experience can find their speciality and be given the freedom to excel.

Over a 2 year period you will spend time with the Windows, Desktop, Databases and Networks teams before mutually deciding where your strengths lie and pushing on from there.

All members of the team have an agreed amount of time to spend on project work and training. From day 1 the successful candidate will be dealing with a huge range of technologies and take on responsibility in looking after our systems and responding to alerts, including:

*Monitoring complex in-house systems and our automated trading systems

*Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange management

*Vmware ESX virtual infrastructure

*Desktop PC upgrades and deployments, including Windows XP and Windows 7

*Server upgrades and deployments, including Server 2003 and 2008

*Server and workstation hardware, diagnostics and repair

*Security issues and improvements, including boundary protection, physical security and AV alerts

*Software upgrades, including trading and general infra applications

Being a small company headcount wise, but one that manages systems trading many millions of dollars daily in an automated way on world markets, means that the role will provide the best of both worlds to someone who would like to pursue a career in financial IT but doesn't want to be restricted to a narrowly-defined role in a big stuffy company. There are future opportunities to work with the senior systems administrators in the many sub-teams. Example projects can range from rolling out Vmware ESX and virtual infrastructure for a remote office to improving environment monitoring systems in our datacentres.
