Type:Contract
The Mission Planning Team designs, develop, deliver and support a range of Missile Mission Planning Systems. These include Planning, Targeting and Rehearsal systems. The products use DTED, map, Satellite and weather data as inputs. All of the products are software tools running on commercial computing hardware. The Mission Planning team work with customers and Users to understand their requirements, then develop the product design and associated algorithms for coding by the software team. The Mission Planning Team conduct acceptance testing and Certification of the products.

Academic Qualification: BSc/ MSc/ MEng in systems engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent. An HND with appropriate experience may be acceptable

Experience Requirements:
At least 5 years experience or Equivalent in two or more of the following:-
Requirements capture, decomposition and management
System Definition
System Design and Analysis
Design Studies
Design and Performance Modelling
System Integration
Design Proving and Product testing
Interface Design
System assessment and acceptance
Algorithm development

Worked in at least one of the following related Areas:
Missile/ Weapon Systems
Command & Control Systems
Control Systems
Military Communications Systems
System design of complex software products
Manipulation and use of Satellite imagery

In addition the successful candidate will

• have the ability to visualize and analyse complex systems
• have good verbal, presentation and written communication skills
• have practical knowledge of basic systems engineering principles and processes.
• be able to work with engineering and software teams
• be pro-active and be capable of working on their own initiative with a minimum of supervision
• have experience in applying systems engineering practices to large hardware/ software development efforts, preferably in an Aerospace, Naval or military program environment
• have good working experience in more than one phase of the engineering life cycle, with sufficient experience of the total life cycle to ensure a good understanding of adjacent phases and through-life engineering issues

Tools Knowledge:
Must be proficient and have a working knowledge of the following IT Tools: Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint etc.)

Desirable:
Working Knowledge of at least one of the following System Design related tools:
DOORS, UML Based Tools, MATLAB, Simulink, Statemate, Rhapsody, Visual Basic.

Due to the specific nature of this role, candidates holding current SC clearance are highly desirable. Successful candidates who do not hold current clearance shall be requested to undergo National Security Vetting procedures. Please be aware that the Security Vetting process can take several weeks depending on the level required.
