Our client are looking for an experienced CSD with at least 3 years’ professional experience of web design and coding and a thorough understanding of the structure and function of Websites.
You will be working within the BBC Future Media and Technology (FM&T) department who are responsible for delivering a wide range of interactive services to license payers on all the main digital platforms including the internet, mobile and interactive television.
BBC Northern Ireland is part of Nations & Regions responsible for the production and strategic direction of local, regional, national and indigenous language content across the UK. It also produces a range of network output.
The Belfast based FM&T team is responsible for delivering a diverse range of products and services to support BBC Northern Ireland output. Examples currently include Radio Ulster, Nolan Live and Murphy’s Law.
Key skills include:
- A thorough understanding of HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0, including frames and tables.
- Prior experience of XML and XSLT, with regard to transforming XML to HTML or other text-based formats.
- A thorough knowledge of CSS and how best to separate content and layout for the Web.
- A good working knowledge of cross-browser Javascript.
- Knowledge of relevant key issues - e.g. layout variations caused by browsers, screen resolution, colours, etc.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other graphic design and image software
- Broad knowledge of BBC output across all media and an insight into how Online services can augment existing service.
- Experience of using Apache
