Ever wondered what it would be like to work on and improve IT systems that handle thousands of pounds worth of transactions every minute?

The IT Web Development team are a multi-disciplinary group responsible for HL's online trading platform and various other important internal and external web based systems. It is a team who work very closely with business analysts, testers and other business areas to deliver critical new functionality to our clients and staff users.

This is an exciting role in which you would be assigned to a small team of developers with whom you will work closely, to deliver improvements and crucial changes to our services, as well as having the opportunity to be instrumental in the delivery of large scale systems projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Working with other members of the team to help deliver significant new features to the business

* Managing projects from start to finish

* Complete administration work to assist in the facilitation of these tasks

* To adhere to deadlines, prioritise work, and provide progress reports

* Documentation of the above

* Build working relationships with colleagues, business users, and other technical teams

Qualifications:

* Grade C or above in Maths & English GCSE (or equivalent)- Educated to AS / A Level (or equivalent)

Desirable:

* Degree educated

* IT based qualification

* Web development based qualification

Knowledge:

* Excellent computer competency

* Advanced skills in PHP, and web technologies such as html, css & javascript

* Experience of working with modern relational database systems

Desirable:

* Oracle

* SOAP

* Smart

* jQuery

Experience:

* Use of the required skills and knowledge in a professional environment

Desirable:

* Experience of working in an office environment, particularly financial services
