A leading high-tech engineering company are looking for a software engineer with experience of both embedded and PC-based software development to join their growing R&D team. Whilst the majority of your work will be designing and coding embedded systems using C, there is also a need for supporting PC-based development in C++ and some C#.
The company develop complex electromechanical products incorporating high-tech comms in-house, giving you a chance to also work with mechanical and hardware engineers. With an on-site manufacturing facility, you will have the satisfaction of seeing a product you contributed to roll off the producion line. You'll be given a lot of autonomy and responsibility within this role, although there is a strong 'team' ethic running throughout the company.
You will also have a chance to work on a Windows CE platform - a very rare, and highly desirable skill set. Products incorporating cutting-edge communications protocols, and high-reliability development methods.
Required:
- Experience writing C code for embedded systems, and
- PC-based application development experience, writing in either C++ or C#.
Other desirable experience includes:
- TCP/ IP or other comms protocols (GPRS, CAN, etc.)
- OO design/ UML
- Windows and/ or Windows CE experience
- Development for 16/ 32-bit processors
