A leading safety systems supplier to the MOD is completing a major project for Astute submarine.

A technical author / clerk is required to assist in an audit of existing documents and produce edits and new drafts of the design and test documentation.
Reporting to the Astute Project Manager, the technical author / clerk will;
+ Review and revise software and system documentation.
+ Witness and assist in the testing of control systems.
+ Assure and control quality in company deliverables.
+ Gain and maintain a sufficient knowledge of the Company's Quality Management System to be able to ensure that the Company's quality requirements are appropriately met within documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Experience in operation, test and maintenance of computer-based systems documentation.
+ Knowledge of software documentation standards.
+ Familiarity with military projects
+ Skilled in technical writing and the use of MS Word.
+ Understanding of quality control practice
