My client are a large organisation with a membership base that exceeds 100,000. They need a Web Developer for 3-6 months to maintain and develop the website and intranet.
Key activities will include;
•Work with the business to understand their requirements
•Design technical solutions to meet these requirements
•Communicate and agree the solution with the customer, other technical staff and external suppliers
•Develop the solution using ASP.NET and related technologies
•Use agile techniques such as iterative development, regular demos to the customer and creating automated tests as the solution is developed
•Take the solution through QA and customer sign-off and deploy it smoothly into production
•Continue to maintain and support the website and the Club's intranet whilst delivering new services
Experience required;
•experience of building complex websites with ASP.NET
•Strong XHTML/ CSS and javascript skills
•Proven experience of Web services, SOAP, XML and XSLT
•2+ years experience of SQL 2005 including triggers, stored procedures, optimisation and installation/ configuration
•Experience of working with at least one .NET based CMS (ideally either MS CMS, Sitepoint or Umbraco)
•Demonstrable experience of supporting a high traffic production website
Desirable Attributes;
•Microsoft certification
•Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint, Biztalk and/ or Commerce server
•Cutting edge web skills such as AJAX, JSON, REST
•Experience of integrating .NET websites with back office systems (SAP ideally)
•Experience of working in an agile environment (SCRUM ideally)
•Experience of either test driven development or automated testing
•Industry experience in travel & hospitality, insurance and/ or membership organisations
