My client is a medium sized organisation and they're looking for an experienced Web Devloper to start as soon as possible.
The role is to work on a project that will deliver a large number of web sites using a new web platform to be implemented from July 2008. The new platform is an on-line transactional system allowing my clients customers to find and buy products and includes a bespoke toolkit for web site construction.
Reporting to the Web Site Development Team Leader, you will work in a team of two or three developers building web sites from detailed design/ construction briefs using the web platform's toolkit in conjunction with conventional HTML editing tools such as Dreamweaver.
The actual systems used are:
Dreamweaver
Bespoke web platform toolkit
FTP
The competencies required for this role are:
Solid web site development skills, this is a development role rather than design.
Thorough understanding of XHTML and CSS is essential, ability to manipulate CSS and templates to produce web sites that comply with HTML standards and match the required design.
Strong command of cross-browser development techniques.
Use of Dreamweaver or another HTML editor. Dreamweaver is used to provide template support however detailed HTML coding skills are essential.
Ability to work as part of a team, under pressure and to tight timescales
Preferable knowledge of JavaScript not essential but beneficial.
A minimum of 2 years commercial experience creating websites, emphasis on developing rather than designing is also required for this role.
