This is a highly visible, NEWLY CREATED opportunity in establishing this pioneering organisations' next generation network architecture at a time of heavy investment in network upgrade.
You'll play an important role in creating high-level designs and evolution strategies for the telecom access network and the associated delivery of voice, Ethernet and TDM- based services. This will take into account the migration from the legacy TDM based architecture to a next generation delivery environment including optical and Ethernet aggregation, VoIP backhaul and voice delivery.
Experience and skills required :
Experience in developing large-scale carrier network architectures.
The ability to provide balanced recommendations regarding key architectural developments that are based upon an open, inclusive and analytical evaluation of the options available.
The ability present well-substantiated and concise recommendations at all levels.
A sound working knowledge of the business and strong stakeholder interface skills.
A good understanding of network economics and the ability to work closely with teams that are responsible for looking at the unit economics associated with network architectures.
Most of the above would be advantageous :
VoIP access including PacketCable, SIP and H.248
Practical experience of VoIP deployment in a carrier environment
UK voice access (POTS and ISDN)
SDH/ PDH transmission and synchronisation
Ethernet access
xDSL standards Optical aggregation (CWDM/ DWDM)
