Systems Engineer – Software House - MCSE, SQL Server 2005, Server2003, WSUS, 35k

My client is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer to be based in Central London.
You will assist in the support my client's Infrastructure so that reliable and resilient systems are available to use. With 50 servers, you will help in the development the network and infrastructure for the group, essential in the day to day activities of this software house. You will be involved in the provision of specialised systems for training and the infrastructure development strategy.

To be considered you will be educated to degree level, have a MCSE qualification or studying for it, and have knowledge of Windows operating systems. You should have experience of software implementation in a large organisation and a broad understanding of network design, computer security issues, configuring networks and internet protocols including HTTP.

To be considered for this role you will have extensive exposure to the following technologies:

• Windows Active Directory Domain Management
• Windows 2000 / 2003 Management
• Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server Management including OWA and OMA
• Backups / Restores - Backup Exec System Recovery Server Edition / Backup Exec for Windows Servers
• Archives - Symantec Enterprise Vault
• Internet Information Service (Version 6)
• Microsoft SQL Database (Version 2000 & 2005)
• Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS)
• Upgrade and Management of Servers - WSUS / Patch Management
• Unix Systems Management (including Solaris and Linux)
• Network monitoring (performance and reliability)
• Network development - Both Wired & Wireless
• Network security and firewalls
• Routers and switches
• Disaster Recovery
• PC upgrade program including Common Desktop build and rollout - RIS
• Evaluation of new devices / software
